It's not my bag!...

...but yet again you have managed to diversify your musical talents to a cheesy dance tune audience. Although I really cant stand this sort of music normally, I find myself nodding my head to it, damn u! If this was on the radio I would turn it off, but keep on humming the tune in my head for hours afterwards. You have made an incredibly catchy tune, that i cant get out of my tuny mind! You deserve to be shot!

DJRunaway responds:

Hahahahaha :) Shoot me, bastard :P Hehe, no, seriously... I tried 2 make a commercial song, needs some tuch up though...

I dig it...

...but way too much reverb on the mix. It detracts from the clarity, and although I know the parts are there, I can't hear them well enuff to enjoy. This tune thumps nicely, but I think u should reduce the reverb.

Cypher responds:

Hey, I'm constantly trying to get music to sound right out of many different types of speakers. My mastering isn't as good as I want it to be! Expect better mastering from me in future.

Thanks for the review.

well.....

The vocal parts are cool, and I like the beginning of the track, but it is so disjointed and lacks any rhythmn. I guess you've used fruityloops and stuck a load of drum sounds together without thinking how they sound to other people. Those hissy hi-hats are quite annoying. It's a good initial idea, but I think you should try starting a trk with a simple beat, then add simple melodies/rhythmns and your cool vox to complement the beats. This tune stresses me out, but there are moments or greatness in there. Keep things simple. Cheers for your review of Squareyes and i left an answer to your question . Take it easy,

thanks and your right but this is my frist time using this program so i wasnt really sure what i was doing, iv only had it for 2 days.

yo!...

This definately sounds more like an idea than the finished article. Those main drums don't have enuff punch and phattness and the hats are a little too piercing. I love the vox and the concept is one I think u should pursue. It really does sound like a skinny chav, rather than a big phat mamma at the mo. Add more beef and more dynamics and this will become a far more intersting sonic experience.

damnit!
yea i know, this song aint finnished, i kinda grew tired of it... I was playing around with the EQ (found some cool stuff, or heard, when listening while driving my dads car wich have a superb soundsystem). I´ve experienced some difficulties mastering my tracks rescently, dunno if it´s because my new soundcard, or if it´s just me... Anyway, I´ll probably wont take the time to fix this song up, it sounds OK if u´ve got a good soundsystem, but not more than that. Hell, I even forgot to pan the shit. haha. :D
thx for the reveiw man! allways appreciated!

Nice stuff.

I agree with Monkeybullman, this definately aint DnB but it is a cracking tune. You can hear the mum influences with the bitty electronic beats and lush reverbed vocals. All the right sounds in all the right places and the lyrics are very fitting. It's just a shame you had a moment of madness and called it 'electric shark blowjob!', hello snow would be a far better title. Good stuff man.

Its my second day on Newgrounds. im a little lost on the categories, still.

Thankyou for your kind words

I dig it!

Excellent bit of glitch man! Superb production and quality beats. My sort of music.

LJCoffee responds:

Th th than than kskskskssss!

I appreciate you taking the time to review it! - I'm a big fan of your stuff -

I recently upgraded to Acid pro 5 and wanted to experiment a little with some of it's newer features - this was the end result...

Keep up the great work on your end!

i say 9.5!.....

...It's another cracking hybrid tune from u. I love the mid-section of this tune, after the breakdown when it came thudding back in it destroys what braincells I have left! Great stuff again.
(I docked half a mark cos, although I can't put my finger on it, there's just something not quite right).

DJRunaway responds:

I have exactly the same feeling, that's why I put it on NG (comments :D ). Anyway, I think I got what's missing... The beat stays the same as the "verse" all the time :) I think I'm gonne pump it up in the "chorus" :)

Thanks again for an excellent review man!

I like the mid-section.....

...when everything chills, goes a bit weird and then comes banging back in. The couple of breakdowns in the track are well placed and I love the sub-bass bassline that runs pretty much throughout. I would have prefered the drums to have less distance on them, ermmm, they seem to be a bit reverby, not in yer face enuff. Might be too much fx on them. I think this track would benefit from having glitchy DnB drums that are made up of hi-end sounds. I think it would add to the originality cos the drums u have in there are a little incessant and although they keep the tune kicking along nicely I find them a little irritating. It might be cos the tempo of the trk is very fast, so the drums seem like they are too quick for their own good, I don't know, blah blah blah:) I do love that beginning bassline! I think cut-up glitchy drums with that bassline would be unbeatable!

AdmiralConquistador responds:

I agree, the drums were a bit irritating. I changed it around a bit, equalized it and it sounds a lot better now, but you'll never hear it because I won't submit an update to NG. Oh well... sad days. Thanks for the review and for enjoying my song!

It grew on me!...

....it's so subtle and atmospheric. It gradually builds really well and makes me wanna keep on listening to see what's coming next! It has a kinda BoardsOfCanada feel to it. If the bass was a little rounder and phatter and there was a few more melodies flitting in and out of the tune it would've got my 10. Still I give u 5/5 cos it's good to hear experimental tunes like this. I'm downloading this right now! Good shit.

porksoda responds:

thanks very kindly for the review.
i'm glad you got a kick out of it.
it's a pretty relaxed and subtle tune that takes a while to kick in. thanks for listening to it long enough to enjoy it :)

Unexpected!

I know the title seems pretty self-explanitory, but I was expecting something completely different! I thought this would be a slow and typical example of the eygptian theme, but instead I got a funky, weird and quirky tune circulating around my head!!! It's cool.

speile responds:

I have made a "traditional" eqyptain style thing as well, but well, i dont like it, so it would be a miracle if anyone else did... anyway, the idea behind this was a minimalism project i did for my music gcse, well, im updating, it and i may put it in the audio portal
