production

need to sort the production out, but when you do this could be awesome. All the parts are there, but get a bit muddy, the vocals over-ride the guitars, the gits are way to quiet in the mix, so are the drums, just needs tweaking and it would sound great, nice trk, get's 4/5 from me.

CWN responds:

I know what you mean. Main problem with the guitars: I used a Fender Strat. My BC Rich was broken at the time.
The mix is sort of raw, next song im working on sounds a lot better. Hey, it's a learning process, and recording is not easy, especially if you have no idea what you're doing. (like me sometimes :D )

nice

nice chilled glitchy vibe to this trk, mainly thanks to the pad sounds that mellow the whole trk out whilst the glitch goes off on one in the background.
Possibly the best thing I've heard from you, it sounds really complete. It gets a little cluttered in places with the sfx and beats, but never too much to upset the general vibe, definate 5/5, nice work man.

progression....

HI.
Sounds more Joy Division esque than Nirvana to me.
I enjoyed the trk, but it didn't progress enough. I'd have liked to have heard some vocals and variance in the guitaring, sounds more like you enjoying playing with a guitar effect than a proper trk.
Good stuff though

Hello There

Hi Man, long time no speak. Hope you are cool.
Liking this trk. It's nostalgic, but current, good vocal snippets as always. A bit of a change in style from what I've heard from you in the past, but it definately works.
As always, interesting and quality sounding material.
Nice one:D

take it easy

Chris.

cracking

I love this trk, the bass is very BIG. It's circus-esque, reminiscent of early chris clark, why only beef is the beats, they could do with being more prominent and varied, still, it's a quality trk.
5/5 from me

DUDE! a review from you to me is like a review from someone who's insanely famous! A good review from you is even better. everyone at the portal knows it's only a matter of time before you make it big! anyway thanks. I'll try to get some more drum variation in there!

well,....

...it's a piece of good piano and then ridiculous piano, i dont think it's bad, but I do wonder what's the point? Drums don't work either, very programmed, nice panning though.

Spoony18 responds:

heheh rhanks lols, it was only a test. i really dont use panning, so i put a little something together and off panned the whole thing. sounds really cool with headphones! lols. thanks for the review bud.

good

there's some level issues with this trk, some peaking going on in the intro due to the harshness of the rezzy pads. It really comes into it's own later on, the bass wobble is excellent. The beats arent 'big' enough imo to support the sound of the instruments, although they do widen and get more developed in the mix. I could do without the vox, especially the panning of them, just conmfuses my ears.
All in all it's a good trk to listen to, but I think it lacks direction.

Good stuff.

good stuff

this is a lovely piece. Calm and relaxing. I think the sine lead with the portamento/pitch bending is a little out of place, i would have liked to hear violin perhaps instead...
I don't think the drums add to the trk, better without imo, but still, this is a really excellent emotive piece of music.

leafcutter john

you been listening to him much:D?
it's a nice trk, love the piano.
Haunting, reminds me of being at school, playing piano in the school hall, I personally would get rid of the 'fucking' vocal, as it kinda ruins the mood for me anyhoo.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

leafcutter who?
school hall? yeh dude
rid of the fuckin? no, i care not should you lose your stiffy.

much love

EQ

A little more release on the piano and a little less fx/reverb might be nice i think, sounds a little muddy.
Needs more treble in the mix, i find it quite middle orientated through my phones. Love the holding note that pans, works really well. Again, I would like to hear the synth sound cut through the mix more.
I think the main issue with this trk is EQ, which is easily sorted if you still have it all as sepertate tracks. Could be due to the crappy filesize limitations on here though:)
Good soundtrack material.
Good stuff.

pitbulljones responds:

cheers KB, i think there may be a little too much bass on the piano i dunno. but i had to knock this down to 96kbps, which is never nice either.

does seem to be lackin in the high i agree, tho it feels a tad softer for it, ay be the instrument choice here not using a lot of high end instruments or sounds dunno, the monkey says i just do XD.

Yea everything is still seperate, all done in cubase as normal so i keep the project files. just in case.....

Cheers again man,

pitters
