well...

....It's pretty basic, but u r only a beginner. The timing is out throughout the track, i'm not sure what program u are using but you should be able to 'Quantize' your beats and samples so they all fit together. You need to try putting some synthesizer/keyboard melodies and rhytmns into your tunes. Have a listen to some of my tunes and see what u think. I recommend 8-BIT bastard as a good place to start or my new live trk, plop plop fizz fizz. Keep on practising, the more u do the better you'll get, don't worry about negative reviews, fuck em! As long as you have fun making the track that's all that matters. Peace

thanks for the positive review, ill check out your work!

Mellow.

You should have classed this one under the ambient category. It's really smooth and subtle. My only problem is that the drums didn't vary enough. If you could re-do the drum section with some more varied glitching beats I think this would sound even better.

hmmm....

...Big mistake putting this in the drum and bass category, cos people who are DnB purists are gonna vote this low. It really isn't DnB at all. It's a cheesy video game style loop. It sounds almost japanese cartoon theme tune like. A good effort, but not my cup of tea!

dmk69 responds:

i uploaded it on the dnb accidently... i think i scrolled down after i put in the genre and didn't see it.. i thought it wouldn't matter:S:S i do think that you're wrong about the cheesy part. it isn't a videogamestyle song at all:S but thanks for your review

Subtle

Well it's certainly minimalist. I wish you had developed the drum line a little more with some nice glitchy Bjork style beats. The synth strings are nice and i like the subtle clicking at the start. I imagine this track is good to listen to with all the lights out, smoking a cigarette and looking at the stars, so I shall, ta ta!.....

Gillenium responds:

Thanks for the review! This is just part two of a 20-30 minute piece, so its not really a song in itself. Still have to have my friend Evan play his guitar and my girlfriend sing on it!

Muzak......

....I think this is cool, brought a smile to my face the instant it started. The chords are James Bond theme though! Conjoures up the image of a really camp 007 mincing about doing the dusting in his garishly couloured mansion!

Khuskan responds:

ironicaly, i noticed the same thing when i listened to it again... but i didnt manage to conjour up *those* images 0.o

At least its a good movie idea ;) hope some animators read that

Cool....

....This is sweet. Those Short stabbing chords take me back to the early rave days. A nice blend of retro, yet modern style breaks! I have to say this is my favourite version out of the two. Nice!

philjo responds:

glad you like it, i love old skool, i grew up with it :D
i shold check your new stuff out, its been a while

I say 8.5....

It's a shame that there is a bit of clipping when this tune loops cos it's really nice. If u could make it loop perfectly I wouldn't be surprised if it's picked up by many flash artists. Good shit!

littledinosaur responds:

Thanks! didn't really think anyone would care much about the song. but i guess you proved me wrong. too bad i didn't save it other than a mp3 file... so i can't fix the clipping... blast.

I say 8.5!....

Shame it's only in one speaker and the end is a bit abrupt! Still, this is pretty cool, I like it.

cr0m responds:

Thank you! I'm new here to the audio portal and I hope to give you all better quality.

nice.

The intro horns and chord progression reminds me of Therapy. 'I got nothing to do 'cept hang around and get screwed up on u!' Really nicely recorded and I feel kinda guilty submitting my track as a ska trk after listening to this professional sounding recording. Really nice stuff. I will listen to some of your other tunes now!

well....

...I like the synth sounds and the intro is really nice and gentle (very nice chords). When the tune kicks in it all gets a little too messy. After reading your description I was expecting a Prodigy style trk, but the intro led me to believe it was more Boards of Canada. I dont think the heavier section of this tune does it justice. I would have prefered it to go on as it started and developed as an ambient electronica trk. Enough critisism, this is a cool trk. Nice stuff. have a listen to some of my tunes and feel free to leave a critical review. I reccomend 8-BIT bastard.
