Hmmm........

.......Crap song, shame, I was hoping it would be good. I'm from Basingstoke too, or as it's affectionatly known, Boringstoke.

AfroUnderscoreStud responds:

It's not supposed to be good, it's supposed to be funny, listen to the lyrics.

GREAT!

Now this trk contains a little bit of Oldlo and a little bit of Newlo. The intro boom made me jump whilst listening thru phones waiting for it to stream!:) I think the sounds are extremely Rucklo and very well chosen. They blend together well and the solidness of the compression and tweaking of them shines through like a big red baboons ass in the sun. I heard an earlier version of this and think you have made the vocoded sections sound sooo much better. They are less prominent and sit really well in the overall mix, complementing it, rather than distracting. I really dig this trk and can't believe I am the first to review it after it has been on here for a few days. I enjoy it from start to finish, the intro, the boomy kick drum with nice compression, the little bits of hiss and glitch, the nice sci-fi arp riff, the filtered bass and then the messed vocoder elements really round it off. The arrangement is simple and effective, keeping the listener interested throughout, the production is very impressive and the strangeness of the title and lyrics make me wanna listen. The people who download and don't review this are a bunch of selfish, lazy, candy-assed bastards. I give this 5/5, 10/10 and I only wish I could help promote this trk more for you.
Review it you damn monkeys!!!!!!!

I know what they are:) Did you ever finish that trk for that flash submission? It's sounds good with the Squarepusher beats.

SpamWarrior responds:

Eclectic

Nice ambient intro to the trk, not sure how necessary the guitar riff was at the start tho, although it was good it would have worked better for me if it had continued and been elaborated on in certain sections, otherwise it sounds like it's there as an after-thought. The squelchy lead sound/riff is nice and retro, but i'm not sure if it works with the vibe of the trk or not in my ears. The 'live' drums could do with being a bit less reverbed, or perhaps just bringing them up in the mix volume-wise would give the track more punch. It all kicks along nicely, but I would like to have heard more made of the guitar riffs, the synth sounds brought down in the mix and some more variance in the drums.
After listening thru a few times, I think this trk is better suited without the guitar and the drums should be fully electro in my opinion, cos it doesn't seem to quite work as it is.

JonH2O responds:

The beginning guitar I added wasn't really necessary at all... I just kinda, yes, did it as an afterthought. It surly would have been nice to have it throughout the track.

Currently, I use Audacity to record me playing guitar and then I upload it as a sample in Reasons' NN-XT device. This is a pain in the ass and I havn't looked at an alternative.
Reverb was all that I added to the drum samples to create a 'live' sound. Less may sound better. What you would have liked to hear are all what I find wrong with this track also. The same drum beat through the ENTIRE song isn't that great.

I will continue to add guitar here and there as I did in this song, but only to a select few. Fully electro sounds like a great direction at the moment. I love chopped up drums.
Thanks for the review man.

Slick.

Good quality production and simple but effective melodies. The transitions are tight and smooth, but i'm not sure how DnB this actually is. The beats could do with some work, perhaps try chopping them up a bit and adding some more variance. If you heavied them up with some ditortion and perhaps do the same to most sections of the trk it would start sounding abit more like DnB for me.
Good stuff/

Always-Dark responds:

OK i should've added this to the description, this was a collab. Me and a friend of mine did this together. He was the one that came up with the drums, i did the arp, bass, ..err, and some other stuff. w.e

Good, could be Great.

I enjoyed listening to this. It flowed pretty well. Two things I would say is that, it could really do with some vocals to help hold my interest(nice gentle stoner rock sounding ones for the chilled sections and evil Napalm Death vox for the heavy parts)and the drums during the mellow parts could do with being varied a bit, the odd fill here and there. Actually i've just thought of a third thing, a bassline. I ask too much perhaps:) This is a cool trk, but I reckon it could be made even better. Also it's a bit too long in my ears, although adding some more layers as i mentioned would definately help for me.
Good shit.

GoreBastard responds:

Thanks for the awesome review mate. I'll take some of those thoughts into mind, specially the bass. I need bass like whores need dick! And yes, the Napalm Death vocals I can do, but singing clean vocals, ain't my department.
Cheers for the review mate.

Ideal for battle march flash

This track is very atmospheric and epic sounding. Nice quality sounds and dynamics to the track that add to the tension. Ideal for someone who is creating a Flash with armies marching to war in. You could maybe add some octave higher strings later on in the track to complement the main string melody.
This track definately paints a picture in my mind.

XGM-Zeth responds:

Thank you, About the strings, My samples wouldnt go that high or they would sound pretty bad. And Im impressed that you actually bothered to review my work :)

I will as always thank you for reviewing, supporting me by giving me suggestions and cristism.

Good luck further on :)

Mine's a Guiness

What with the name Irish Loop I was expecting a sort of Irish folk loop, instead it's quite a bi-beat affair with a nice catchy hook to it. I'm not too keen on the sounds used and i'm not really sure how Irish this sounds, but it certainly is catchy.
A good solid loop, that sounds like it was meant for a SNES game menu music in my ears.

Psybot responds:

you see.. when i here a bagpipe i think of ireland for some reason.
and i tried to make it sound like a bagpipe... but well well... back to the Studio =P

anyway... thx for your review man.

Nice stuff.

Perhaps drop in a nice high lead melody and then this is ready for the Dancefloor. Good solid beats, good bass, good synths and fx.
This is a solid piece of Dance music, with everything in its right place.
Banging:)

DJRunaway responds:

Hahaha, thanks for the review man :) Yeah, I think I'm gonne add a nice highlead melody indeed...What a good plan :) Expect a version 2 soon :)

Greetz,
Runaway

A bit too busy....

...but generally quite nice and experimental. I'm not too keen on the lead synth sound, i find it a bit weak. There's just too much goin on for me to enjoy it (Perhaps too much emphasis on the fx and weird samples than on the tune itself). I think it's ideal as an intro that could lead into glitch beats and something a bit more structured and coherent.
Nice to hear something that isn't totally quantized and sycopated Fruity Loops shite for a change.
good stuff.

DjLynchmobKillAthens responds:

thanx for the review... i definately agree that fruitiloops (and other programs of the like) are definately over used, despite them being functional and efficient....anywho, your actualy not hearing any samples at all, its all synthasized. i decided i was getting bored of drum mahcines.. and drum in general, so i decided to take a note from the noise genre and john kage and used noise as procussion. so the weird sounds and fx are actualy just as important as the incosistantly tempoed synth melody... this is the first of a series of songs that are AUTOBIGRAPHICALY... so its a bizzare bull shit pretentious art statmenet in genral, everyhting is bizzarely intentional and metaphorical....i'm curious as to weather or not i should post the rest of them. what you guys think?
