An interesting trk man, good to hear some new stuff from you. 5/5 from me, and i'll probably be dropping you a line for the high qual version. Btw
you have a myspace account?

crud responds:

yeah man! so good tah hear some stats from a man who knows his stuff. thanks for the review and i HIGHLY reccomend the hi-fi version, it's hard for me to listen to the low rate version too.

Myspace?.....yah got me. i go by "Crud @ Office" on MySpace

cheq yah later!

EQ

The track has alot of nice moments in it, for a cheesy techno trk:) I think the mix sounds a little trebley though, needs some EQing to really get that bass end thumping. The panning of the hi-hats and arrangement is good and the trk carries a nice happy vibe.

Spatial

Really liked the intro to this trk. I like the fact it's a slow builder. Personally i don't like the percussive bells sound, but I do love the ambient reverb you have on the attacked synths. It has a great spatial quality. I would love to hear this with a simple downtempo beat. A quality piece of ambinece that grows with each listen. My only problem is that it kinda sounds a bit muddy because of the release on some of the reverb, mainly on the synth that's introduced towards the end. It's middle eq is quite high and causes it to interupt the other parts. Persnally I love the fisrt minute of this tune, and would be happy to listen to that on a loop for ages:D

Gillenium responds:

Thanks! But yeah, I've had to say it many times, but I'll say it again... I just don't see the appeal of this song. I liked it when I released it, but now I just think it sounds dated. I have no idea why this song has become so popular. I keep wanting to redo it, cause the melody is good, but I can never figure out what to do with it...

nice.

It has a nice sound to it. The filters at the start work well, the lead synth might be a bit too high in the mix though. The panning is good and the fx used help to keep the tune interesting. Perhaps a more wandering bassline would work well if you decided to add a bridge section to this trk. I think it's well produced and the arrangement is simple but effective, though personally I would like to hear some more variance throughout.
Good stuff.

coldbloodedmessiah responds:

I was actually thinking the same thing. I'm trying to incorporate that in my newer tracks, which should be uploaded sometime soon.

chilled

A nice sound/vibe to this little piece of ambience. I would almost have preferred it without the beats, although they do help it to tick along nicely. I would be interested to hear what this would sound like if the beats were removed then you reversed the piece and played it back an octave lower.
Definately conveys a melancholy mood.

Good Stuff

I went a bit low on effort as it's quite short and could quite easily go on and develop into a full trk. It's the sort of thing I could quite easily image being intertwined with some epic rpg gaming moment or a movie where the camera is panning across a vast landscape following the hero on his horse as he leads his amassed army into battle:)
It's not really my thing, but certainly works very effectively as a movie soundtrack piece. All the right sounds/instruments are well placed and mixed really well. I think it would be interesting to take the drums out of this piece and adding some mad Amen style breaks over the top in a Venetian Snares stylee:)
You should check out his album 'Rossz Csillag Allat Született' if you haven't already.
I think you would appreciate it.
Have a goodun.

Chilled

Has a nice dissonance to this trk. The mixture of electronics with more 'real' sounding instruments works well. This sounds ideal for rpg gaming, I hear it as walking music, perhaps walking through an eerie area in a game that has a haunted forest:) I don't really know what you could add to this. Perhaps a bridge section that becomes more full-on with some distortion and high pitched stabs on an instrument to heighten the tension, who knows....
Nice stuff.

WinTang responds:

Cheers for reviewing, man, whenever I come across a review of yours, you always hit the nail straight on the head, and are very helpful at that!
I agree that it's much RPG-y, Chrono Trigger was a little on my mind when I was making it.
Your suggestion for a bridge section sounds very compelling, I'll give that a try!

I like

I really like the sounds you use. You really deserve to get more attention that you're getting on this site, you have a myspace page?
Shame this trk just ends abruptly, i think there's loadsa potential to make this into a longer tune.

Nice

Kinda reminds me of some Kid Spatula tunes. Really nice beats and microbeats, quirky synths and good choice of sounds. I find the distortion on the lead ambient pad a little un-necessary, perhaps justa bit too harsh, but i do like the general fuzzy sound of the trk contrasted with the beats.
Good to here some inventive stuff on NG.
Take it easy.

kinda good trk, it peaks a little, nasty on the ears in places. not much to say about it really, it could be better.
