Good drivin' feel to this track, the beats and bass really kick the track along well. I would suggest bringing the cymbal splashes down a little in the mix, maybe taking some of the high-end off them so they aren't so abrasive. The break that comes in is lovely, very emotive. Everything intertwines nicely and the track grows and evolves well.
I would just try to soften those cymbals a little, maybe a bit more reverb on them so they blend in a bit better and then you're onto a winner.
Good stuff. 5'd

Pretty epic piece of ambience here. I think the mood of the piece is really good. The choral pads/voices create a ethereal quality. The reversed sections are a good element, perhaps peaking a little bit too much on the loudness side of things though for my tastes which does remove a little of the peaceful nature of the trk.
( I like the sound of them, even when they break into a little distortion, but think they might be a little high in the overall mix).
The whole trk could pehaps be brought down a couple of notches volume-wise so that it's a little less brash. Other than that it's a really nice piece conjouring up visions of black and white footage of old churches and ghostly apparitions:)

And thanks for the constructive criticism. personally i dó like the higher notes a little higher, but that's just to increase my mood, and ze euphoric feelings. ;)

as you say, nice n laid back, relaxing. Simple piano riff doesn't get too repetetive, although i think some singing over the top of this in a nice simple lo-fi style would really add another dimension to the trk.
Good Stuff
Author's Response:
I know what you're saying about adding some vocals... there's actually an extremely faint humming/vocoding that comes in at 1:36 which was a result of me trying some things out, not liking it enough, but not disliking it enough to COMPLETELY take it out of the mix.
I appreciate your opinion. Thanks for the review!

I particularly enjoted the glitching sections. I would have preferred to have heard a bit more interesting drum sounds throughout the non-glitching sections though, but they do drive the trk along nice and simply. Some sub bass drop in the mix might souind cool too.
Good stuff. 5'd
Author's Response:
Cool, thanks for dropping me a review.
I did kind of get lazy with the drums. Actually, I felt like the I got lazy with the glitching too; for the most part it was just a simple pattern that I repeated instead of taking the time to give it a little more flavor.
Unfortunately, my set-up is a piece of shit, so I can't deal with sub bass :(
Thanks again!

liking this.
Nice moody slow build with the glitch elements adding to the overall suspense of the trk.
Definite soundtrack material.
I think you could've put some more double timed beats in there to help ot develop more, but I like the fact that it's dark and consistent.
Great production too.
Nice one:)
Author's Response:
Hey hey KB,
Thanks mate, haven't seen you around in a while - always nice to hear from you.
More double time beats - an excellent suggestion. I'm thinking that if the piece were extended a bit, the percussion doubled in a few spots and halved in a few others then it would be much more engaging.
Always a stream of good advice coming from you. :)
Take it easy!

the mix needs work, the ambient synths dominate the mix and you can't hear the vox.
No real need to blank out the word n***a when you say it throughout the trk:P
has potential...
see what you think of my trk [ O M G ] would like your opinion.

Omg, I love you! Thanks for the review!
I just turned up the vocals and tweaked the EQ some more due to popular demand.

it's not ambient, apart from the start:)
It's interesting though, i think the synths may be a little loud in the mix in comparison to the beats, they definitely over-ride the mix.
Nice breakdown, that's my fav bit of the trk.
As you say, with some better mastering this could be really good, the arrangement and development is very good apart from the end perhaps, that could use some more thought.
Good tune, 5'd
Author's Response:
'Preciate the feedback bro. Yes the ending could of ended much better, but I got to a certain point and knew I needed to mix this thing down and be done with it finally lol. My mastering techniques also leave much to be desired. Thanks for 5'ing it though :-D

I think the arrangement is pretty much spot on, but the sounds you've chosen to use are wrong in my ears.
I do like the low sub kick drum, but feel the other hits of the beats need to be altered they are too weak. The snare needs to cut through the mix more.
The mellow synth/pad at about 2 mins in is a nice sound.
Perhaps try listening to some Thomas Schumacher tracks( i recommend his trk Hiroo), I think he has the right sort of sound for this genre, of course it's only my opinion:)
Overall, good solid track. 5'd
