Booyah!

Nice sounds and production skills in this tune, all fits together well and has a good dark fell. Reminiscent of Fingathing which is always a good thing. Scratching sounds like it's coming on a treat:)
Nice stuf man.

Rucklo responds:

Fingathing, eh? warms my heart <3
thanx mate! :)

God Hates Us All

I'm gonna take a stab at the fact that Slayer are an influence on you, as well as Pantera and Sepultura, perhaps i'm wrong.
Drums work better in this tune. the guitar riffs are sweet again, i really like the sound of them, and the mid-section is fucking sweet, why does it just chop off at the end though, that's a shame. Chunky riffs, basic thumping drums, and an overall good thrashy feel to the tune. Good stuff.

BuryYourFace responds:

slayer and pantera yes, but sepultura NEVER. They are wayyyyyy too tribal for my liking. and Thank you for the review dude... creating music is what im seriously addicted to at the moment so if this isnt your taste in metal, give it some time and youll find one from me that hits your G spot

Lose the drums

Those drums aren't the best, the guitar playing is pretty fucking solid though. I think you should lose those drums and just keep it a guitar based trk until you can get someone to do it justice with a proper drumkit/beat.
The drums sound very seperate to the guitars to me and dont really aide the trk in any way. Fingertapping? hahha, nice tune, but lose the shitty drums and find a proper drummer I reckon, needs a nice bassline too.

BuryYourFace responds:

dude i thought the drums sounded fine, and fit perfectly with the guitars.

Haunting

A nice haunting piece of orchestration. Definately one for the flash movie makers.

Rucklo responds:

Yeah i hope somone will pick it up... not that likley though :)

you're right...

....guitar is good, i love my guitars more than life itself, well, perhaps a slight exaggeration, but I do love my gits.
Rather lovely intro to this tune, nice picking, good interesing changes and cool floaty fx in the backing, with purposefull tone. Cool bassline, following the melody and straying every now and then. Great idea with the break, is he gonna bring the guitar picking back in over the squelch i wonder? NIce vocals, indecipherable, but work well, i like that kinda style. This has to be the most interesting and individual piece i've heard from you, i would be making stuff similar to this if i could record my guitar and vox, maybe it's a ginger gene or something:) we're all creative bastards at heart, hehe.
I cant find anything i don't like about this trk, it's just really rather good, maybe bringing the picking in wih the squelch and beats might've been interesting, but fuckit, great stuff man.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

thanks mr.bastard. yeh, i like the first lot of vox, can't hear the lyrics - reminds me of a band called totimoshi a bit. yeh, u should get ur guitar and mic out, would be interested to hear what u come out with.

Tripping.

good little intro, reminded me of A Tribe Called Quest! Really nice production on this trk, solid sounds. The swirling pads and fx are very effective, not so sure about the guitar, it definately works as a melody but i keep spending too much time wondering whether it's real or synthetic, but that's just me. It actually works really well as a subtle contrast to the rest of the trk.
The use of fx and panning in this trk is really excellent. It feels like there's always something moving and evolving.
Some of the drum chops/glitches are a little un-necessary I think, and actually get in the wat a little.
Get some vocals on top of this and you'd have a trk that would probably be well received commercially in the chill-out/trip hop market.
This is a very complete, very solid piece, great production, great use of fx, great melodies, great bassline, just great!!
Very nice tune to hear after first waking up.
Gets my 5, not too sure about the title though:)

dj-padman1 responds:

cheers for the review KBA! May I just say the picture in your profile is pure genius.
Thanks for your generous praise, you've raised some really good points in there as well. Especially about the drum chops..you're spot on in fact....they were added as an afterthought because I was getting bored of listening to the same thing....I really need to get more disciplined about it!
Well, I appreciate you taking the time to listen and review heaps man, and if you enjoyed it, then I'm stoked.

P.S Someday I'll make a decent title!!?!HKSHF

Soundtrack.

The instrumentation in this trk is very good, all the sounds gel very well together and evoke a good mood. The production is good too, the only thing I would like to hear different is the beats. Wheteher they could be more glitched electronic or made to have a more real sound i'm not so sure, but that's the only part of the trk that I wasn't keen on.
I agree that a vocal would definately aide this trk, as it would add another level to it, but as is this could work well as a soundtrack piece. I'd almost like to hear this trk as an ambient piece without the drums, sorry to go on about the drums, but they just sound wrong in contrast to the mood and other instrumentation.
Really nice tune. Great nuances, lovely interlacing sounds and riffs and good attention to detail to.

pitbulljones responds:

thanks KB for the review. I can never satisfy you with my beats can i? lol, it's all good tho, i don't really know how to do glitching you'll have to give me some tips on it as id love to do that stuff. i'm currently working on some lyrics for this so once theyre done i'll do a take two, n i might send you a none percussive track just so you can hear it without and make your mind up.

anyways thanks again mate for a good review.

LOUD!!!

this is quite a loud piece man, i had to adjust my volume to about 1/3 as it was very piercing. It's a nice little ethnic styled piece, not much else to say really apart from i would sort the eq on it a bit and just generally turn the whole thing down a bit:)

You'll notice i've been a little harsh in my scores along the way, it's only cos it's you and i know how good you can be:)

Chromatronic responds:

this is Really old nothin piece, just for a first submission. Not ment to acctually be listened to.

F.U.C.K

This is a little more my thing. A bit more inventive than the other tunes, but again it quite full of fx/sounds and vocal snippets that are perhaps tooo much to be put together as one. I think the mix needs some space. Definately interesting, but the sort of trk you'd listen to about once a month, certainly not everyday:)

Chromatronic responds:

made a while back but never put on new grounds.

thumpity thump

i wirting the reviews as i listen along, so sorry if they're a little fragmented.
Again with the heavy techy kick, not a sound i'm a huge fan of, apart from in your more glitchcore based tunes. I'm not so sure about some of the effects in this tune, the lo-fi, bitcrushy filter down was nice but a little overbearing and perhaps a touch too much reverb in places muddies the sound a little when i think techno needs to be a little more clean and sparse.
[Someones using the reason timesretch fun combinator:)]
I like ythe mid section breakdown, and can even take the kick over the top of it. I just generally am not really into this style of trk.

Chromatronic responds:

its ok. I understand.
